Soul is the art of design

restaurant interior architecture

Have you noticed the spaces that allow you to just exhale upon entry?

The energy feels comfortable, the space allows you to breathe.

In order for a space to summon an emotional connection the design needs to be thoughtful and inherent to the architecture. Building or renovating can be straight forward to end up with a fresh space, but something keeps you from embracing it.

A successful space uses design to engage your emotions.

No matter what aesthetic approach is desired, you can apply design principles to make a space resonate.

Here are examples with an emotional gravitational pull and the reasons why:

Aesthetic approach: casual tradition

LOCATION: the design maximizes its surroundings with large paned windows allowing unobstructed connection to nature

FOCUS: interior color palette is minimal - framing the ever-changing garden out the window

CONTRAST: the reclaimed leaded paned window is distinguished from the modern windows at the exterior wall making for a timeless sensation

SCALE: large scale artwork mimics the scale of large windows. The one piece of art adds warmth and interest without the distracting dots smaller framed pictures would add.

HARMONY: the booths and the wall wainscot color similarity visually expand the comfort seating area
